The Pope and Hans Küng
Further signs that the Pontificate of Benedict XVI may not turn out to be as reactionary as some had feared. Apparently he met with Hans Küng on Saturday for the first time in over 20 years. Hat tip to Benjamin Myers whose post also has links to the news reports.

Comment from RC friend who trained for Priesthood in Rome. Cardinal Ratzinger (as was) - a very caring and deeply pastoral man who knew all the students by name. Probably achieved his reputation due to his germanic thoroughness in doing the job for which he was appointed to the best of his ability and in obedience to the former Pope. Conservative, yes probably but reactionary... hmmm, watch this space.
